I Timothy 2
1 I exhort you therefore first of all to be doing entreaty, prayer, intercession, thanksgiving, concerning all men, 2 concerning kings and all being in prominence, in order that we live [a] tranquil and quiet life in all piety and dignity. 3 This is good and acceptable before God our savior, 4 who wants all men to be saved and to come to true knowledge. 5 For God [is] one, and [there is] one mediator of God and men, [a] man Christ Jesus, 6 the [one] having given himself [as] ransom in behalf of all, the testimony [being] in its own opportune-time1 (); 7 for which I was appointed herald and apostle—I say truth, I do not lie —teacher2 of the nations in faith and truth. 8 I intend therefore [that] men be praying in every place, lifting up approved hands without wrath and argument. 9 Likewise I intend [that] women adorn themselves with respectable apparel, with modesty and decency, not with braided [hair] and gold or pearl or expensive clothing, 10 but what is proper for women professing piety, through good works. 11 Let3 [the] women be learning in silence in all subjection. 12 For I do not permit [a] woman to be teaching, nor to be dominating [a] man, but to be in silence. 13 For Adam was first formed, then Eve. 14 And Adam was not deceived, but the woman having been deceived came to be in transgression. 15 But she will be saved through childbearing, if they abide in faith and agape-love and holiness with decency.1KAIROS (καιρoς ) `opportune time', `proper time', `season'
